How often a home in Dubai needs cleaning
August 2, 2026
Advice written for European homes does not transfer well here. Three things change the calculation.
Why Dubai is different
- Fine dust. It arrives through every window seal and settles on flat surfaces within a day or two, even in a sealed flat.
- Humidity. Bathrooms that would dry out elsewhere stay damp, so grout and silicone need attention before mould appears rather than after.
- Air conditioning. Running constantly, it circulates dust and dries surfaces unevenly. Vent covers collect grey film faster than anything else in the home.
A realistic schedule
One or two people, out at work all day — a regular clean once a week, a deep clean twice a year.
Family with young children — twice a week is the honest answer; once a week means the second half of the week is always a compromise. Deep clean every three to four months.
Family with pets — twice a week, and a deep clean quarterly. Hair works into rugs and upholstery faster than most people expect.
Villa — by area rather than by frequency. A villa cleaned once a week generally needs a longer visit rather than a more frequent one.
The pattern that actually works
Most households settle on a fixed weekly slot with the same cleaner, plus a deep clean before Ramadan or ahead of guests. The fixed slot matters more than the frequency — a clean that moves around the calendar tends to get skipped.
